We live in an age like no other where knowledge has increased to the point where obstacles like language barriers are waiting to be taken down in one fell swoop. Much like the eradication of polio, all it takes is one catalytic idea, one drop in an ocean to send ripples that will surround the world. Furthermore, technologies like the Internet and podcasting have allowed us to overcome international borders and politics to reach into even the most sensitive of countries with the good news of Jesus. For these reasons and for the 24/7 empowerment of multi-lingual missionary translators everywhere, Mountain Movers : Missions Without Borders was formed.
Our objective is to mobilize multi-lingual believers, and maybe even curious non-believers to hasten the pace of Gospel literature translation through online collaborative means. To that end, we have launched a MediaWiki site to serve as the translation test-site for this revolutionary missions project. Our dedicated forums (fora?) will serve as the host of the original piece (does not have to be in English). From the outset, we will only post evangelistic and discipleship literature from sources that adhere to our statement of faith and that is approved for release. Club Alpha Omega will initiate the process until the floodgates open wide.
As an example, a work is made available online. We post it on one of our syndicated forums. Multi-lingual believers everwhere are empowered to translate the work in a collaborative manner. Within months, that same article can be made available in several languages of the world. The literature is now available for in-country missionaries, indigenous ministers and nationals with Internet access. They can then re-publish the works in their language and distribute as needed.
There are potential hardships to this method, as is the case with ministry of every kind, the MediaWiki format is prone to vandalism. To mitigate this, people are empowered again. This time to shepherd the work from vandals. Collaborative online ministry means just that. This project is meant to be a team effort!
Please join us in prayer as we move mountains and missions to a place without borders in Jesus name!
